FAQs about upgrading

When can I upgrade my phone with EE?

If you’re on a pay monthly SIM or Data SIM you can upgrade to a new device after just four months – fees may apply for early upgrades.

If you’re on a plan with Upgrade Anytime, you can upgrade just 15 days into your contract. There may be a fee to pay depending on where you are in your contract. For plans with Upgrade Anytime you’ll need to return your old device and sign up to a new 24 or 36 month plan with Upgrade Anytime. 

Can I keep my number?

Keeping your existing number is easy with EE. We’ll send you a replacement SIM card with your new device and transfer your number.

Can I keep my device?

You can switch to a SIM only plan and keep your old device. If you are still within your minimum contract period you may need to pay an early upgrade fee to switch to a SIM only plan.

How can I track my order?

Check the status of your order by opening the link in your confirmation email. If your order is with DPD, they will send you a text with you tracking reference to track your order online.

Can I trade in my old device?

You can get money back when you trade-in your old phone with our Recycle & Reward scheme.

Terms and conditions apply, you must be at the end of your contract or be upgrading in the last 90 days to use this scheme.

On plans with Upgrade Anytime, to upgrade early you’ll need to return your old phone, but you won’t get any money back for it.

When can I upgrade with Upgrade Anytime?

If you’re on a plan with Upgrade Anytime, you can upgrade just 15 days into your new plan.

There may be an upgrade fee to pay depending on where you are in your contract but you can upgrade to a phone every two weeks if you want – you just need to trade in your old device and sign up to a new 24 or 36 month plan with Upgrade Anytime.

Your new contract must be of equal or higher value than your existing contract.
