Structured cabling

With structured cabling there is no need for independent voice and data wiring; structured cabling accommodates both. And it allows you to carry out your own moves and changes.

Consider structured cabling if you’re -

  • Changing to an IP phone system (including BT Cloud Voice)
  • Moving premises
  • Kitting out a new building or greenfield site (we’ll give you a quote based on plans and drawings)
  • Planning an office refurbishment or reorganisation
  • Struggling with bandwidth-hungry applications like video conferencing or data streaming and you need faster servers and PCs

Why BT for structured cabling?

  • Our pricing includes all of the cabling components you’ll need to support the new phone system/LAN/cloud solution
  • We have specialist structured cabling engineers
  • Our cabling and associated products come with a 25-year warranty
  • We co-ordinate the installation with your other BT products

FAQs

Do I have to pay for the system in one go?

No, you can spread your payments on a finance option. With finance leasing you can spread your payments and get the technology you need, when you need it. And you can keep upgrading so your business always benefits from the latest developments.

Can I take my number with me if I move?

With BT SIP Trunk you can, as this type of number is on the IP network rather than sitting in the local telephone exchange.

Can I use the system when I’m out of the office, or working from home?

Yes, with Remote Worker options people can stay productive when they’re working on the go or from home.

You can also use mobile ‘twinning’ so you never miss a call. Incoming calls ring on your desk phone and your mobile phone at the same time.

Can BT maintain my phone system?

Nearly all of our phone system customers ask us to maintain their system. All of our new phone systems include Proactive Remote Monitoring as standard. We have a cost effective range of maintenance options designed to suit your business operation and your budget. We can also maintain your non-BT phone systems.

Can I add extras such as voice recording?

Yes, we offer a wide range of range of phone system peripherals designed to improve customer service, protect staff and premises, and increase productivity. These include additional handsets, headsets, music/messaging on-hold, voice recording, secure door access solutions, unified communicator, and audio visual solutions.

Do you still sell the BT Quantum phone system?

We no longer sell the BT Quantum phone system. But we will continue to upgrade and maintain any existing systems for the foreseeable future.

Can my phone system ‘grow’ with me as my business expands?

We design our phone systems to allow you to grow as a business without worrying about the capacity of your system. Our systems are developed with the ‘ever-green’ concept in mind. Additional lines and extensions can be added as well as additional functionality like voice recording.

My small business takes orders by phone. Can a new system handle these calls in the same way a contact or call centre would?

Yes. The size of your business should not limit your ability to efficiently and effectively handle crucial customer calls. For example, call routing allows you to manage calls from wherever you are, so your customers get through to the person they want to speak to.

Will I be able to make SIP calls on my phone system?

BT phone systems (such as the Avaya IP Office and Mitel MiVoice) are compatible with BT Cloud Voice SIP. But if you have another phone system you could still take BT Cloud Voice SIP by using our BT SIP Trunk Gateway.

I’m a small business, would I need a receptionist to operate the system?

No, you don’t. With BT Secure Access solutions you can keep your buildings secure and welcome visitors with a BT phone system.
