BT Local Business: D2 Communications Ltd
D2 Communications Ltd
D2 Communications has been the BT Local Business for central Birmingham since 2002, before expanding into Herefordshire in 2005.
‘During this time, we’ve witnessed major developments within the telecommunications and ICT sectors and we’ve seen the benefits that these changes can bring to our SME customers’, says D2 founder and Managing Director, David Smallwood.
As a BT Local Business, D2 Communications is the go-to destination for all sizes and types of business wanting advice on all areas of telecommunications: networks, internet, Wi-Fi, mobile, cloud, data platforms, phone systems, calls and lines, and all areas of ICT for both the SME and Education sectors.
David says: 'We’re based in Edgbaston, which is ideal for covering the Birmingham-to-Hereford patch. Part of our 40-strong team is field-based, dotted across the area so we’re never too far away from any customers.'
Business partner Simon Beevers explains that the company is able to offer complete solutions to all the communications problems and challenges faced by the modern business.
‘We’ve spent years serving all types of business and education customers; it doesn’t matter if the problems are simple or complex – we’ll create a solution to match the demand’, he says. ‘And as a local business ourselves, we also play an active part in the community, taking part in various activities to help local charities’.

Businesses we've helped
As an Academy, the William Brookes School needed to move their internet and voice platforms away from the control of their Local Authority. After detailed consultations with us, we supplied a state-of-the-art Mitel IP phone platform sufficient to serve a 1300-pupil organisation, plus a BTnet Leased Line with BT Trunk SIP, and a complete locked-down internet security solution for the students.
