Finding the best location for your Complete Wi-Fi or Complete Wi-Fi Plus

Working out the best location for your Complete Wi-Fi or Complete Wi-Fi Plus extender is straightforward. The quickest and easiest way is by using the BT Business app.

Download the BT Business app from the Apple App StoreDownload the BT Business app from Google Play

Not got the app? You can still set up your Wi-Fi disc or Wi-Fi Plus extender without it. Watch this short video to set up or follow the steps below it.

1. Where’s your wi-fi network weak?

If you don't already know, try walking around with your phone or a laptop to check the strength of your wi-fi signal.

Use your mobile or laptop to check your wi-fi strength.

2. The best spot for your Complete Wi-Fi or Complete Wi-Fi Plus Extender

The best spot is a clear space off the floor close to a power socket. Make sure the vents on the back of your Complete Wi-Fi disc or Complete Wi-Fi Plus extender are clear of obstructions.

Keep your Wi-Fi Disc off the floor.

3. Find a spot between your hub and the weak wi-fi area

Usually this is about halfway between the two devices. Plug your Wi-Fi Disc or Wi-Fi Plus Extender into a power socket and switch it on.

Wi-Fi Disk will light up red when you plug it in.

4. Wait for a single light to show

After a minute or two the light on your Wi-Fi Disc will stop flashing red and turn either solid blue or orange.

If you are using Complete Wi-Fi Plus the light will stop flashing Indigo and turn either solid blue or solid orange

You have an ok wi-fi signal — try moving your Wi-Fi Disc or Complete Wi-Fi Plus extender closer to your Hub to make the signal even stronger.

If you find your wi-fi blind spot isn't quite covered, try moving your Wi-Fi Disc or Wi-Fi Plus extender further away from your Hub. If you can't cover all your blind spots with one Wi-Fi Disc or extender you can contact us to request another.

On the rare occasion you need to place a Wi-Fi Disc/extender outside the reach of your Hub, your Wi-Fi Disc/extender can be connected to your Hub via an Ethernet cable. We advise against doing this though and suggest contacting us to request an additional Wi-Fi Disc.

If you are using Complete Wi-Fi Plus extenders you can connect one extender to another via Wi-Fi to extend the range.
