What is BT Cloud Voice Receptionist and how do I set it up?

Receptionist is a BT Cloud Voice add-on that lets users monitor calls, manage contacts and handle incoming calls using the Receptionist web portal.

The Standard version supports up to 200 users. Receptionist Small Business supports up to 30 users.

Access the Receptionist portal

You can access the Receptionist portal in two ways.

  1. Launch from the BT Business Cloud Voice Portal
  2. Receptionist portal directly

There are steps below to show you for each option.

Launch Receptionist from the BT Business Cloud Voice Portal

To launch the Receptionist, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the BT Business Cloud Voice Portal.
  2. Select Users from the top menu.
  3. Search for the user and select the settings icon.
  4. Select Applications from the left-hand menu.
  5. In the Receptionist tile, select Launch.

Access the Receptionist portal directly

If you already have your login details, you can sign in directly to the Receptionist portal.

You can find your login details by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to the BT Business Cloud Voice Portal.
  2. Select Users from the top menu.
  3. Search for the user and select the settings icon.
  4. Select Applications from the left-hand menu.
  5. Select the Application login credentials tab.

You’ll see the Receptionist username here. You can also select Change Password to reset the password.

Activate the Receptionist add-on

Follow these steps to activate the add-on:

  1. Sign in to the BT Business Cloud Voice Portal.
  2. Select Users from the top menu.
  3. Search for the user and select the settings icon.
  4. Select Profile from the left-hand menu.
  5. Select the User licensing tile next to Add-ons.
    If Receptionist Console or Receptionist Small Business is already shown, the add-on has already been assigned.
  6. To assign the add-on licence, select Modify in the User licensing tile.
  7. Select Continue.
  8. Tick the box next to Receptionist. Then use the drop-down menu to select the add-on type.
  9. Select Continue on the next two pages.
  10. Select Save.

Add users to Receptionist

To add new users to Receptionist follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the BT Business Cloud Voice Portal.
  2. Select Users from the top menu.
  3. Search for the user and select the settings icon.
  4. Select Features from the left-hand menu.
  5. In the Receptionist tile, select the settings icon.
  6. Select Add users or Manage users if users have already been assigned.
  7. From the drop-down menu, select the users you want to add. You can also add all users.
  8. Select Save.
