Having problems connecting your Yealink cordless handset to BT Cloud Voice Express? It can happen very rarely – if you’ve tried connecting to Cloud Voice Express before we’d set it up, for example, or if you asked to switch the number (known as ‘porting’) while already using the phone.
If you’ve tried Cloud Voice Express troubleshooting with no success, you may need to factory reset your Yealink cordless phone.
Important information before doing a factory reset of a Yealink cordless phone
- You’ll delete all handset and user data from the phone.
- You’ll need to be at your site.
- You’ll need to be connected to broadband or the Cloud Voice Express network.
- Factory resets can take up to 20 minutes, so make sure you have that time available.
All set to restore your Yealink cordless phone to factory settings? There are two ways to do it.
Factory reset your Yealink cordless phone using the handset
- On the home screen of your Yealink handset (where it shows the date and time), select Line.
- You should see your phone number. If you do see your correct phone number, you don’t need to do a factory reset! But if you see your old phone number or No matched line, follow these steps to factory reset your phone to your correct Cloud Voice Express number.
- Return to the home screen (where the date and time is).
- Press the OK button on the front of the phone.
- You’ll see seven options on screen – select Settings.
- You’ll then see a menu with 10 options – select System Settings.
- Select Base Reset from the next menu.
- Enter 0000 when you’re asked for a PIN.
- Press the OK button on the front of the phone.
- The base station will beep twice to confirm the factory reset, and will reboot. This can take up to 20 minutes if a firmware update is also needed.
- Your handset will show the date and time when it reconnects. Select Line from the home screen.
- If you see your correct phone number, you’ve successfully factory reset your Yealink handset to use Cloud Voice Express
Factory reset your Yealink cordless phone using the base station
- With the power on, press and hold the Paging button on the front of the base station.
- Keeping the Paging button pressed in, disconnect the power cable from the DC5V port.
- Still keeping the Paging button pressed in, reconnect the power cable.
- With the Paging button still pressed in, wait until you see three green lights on the front of the base station.
- Release the Paging button and disconnect the power cable again.
- Reconnect the power cable and wait 3-5 minutes for the Yealink base station to fully start up.
You’ve restored your Yealink base station to factory settings. You now need to register your Yealink handset to Cloud Voice Express so that it works with the base station.
