Managing your number inventory in Operator Connect

To complete the tasks in this article, you’ll need to be an administrator. Learn more about Teams administrator permissions.

In Microsoft Teams, the phone numbers assigned to you are stored in Microsoft’s number management inventory. You can view these numbers at any time in the number management section.

View your number inventory in Microsoft Teams

To see your number inventory, log into the Teams Admin Centre, select Voice, then Phone numbers. Here you'll find a complete inventory of all your numbers.

For more detailed information, see Microsoft's guidance for Viewing a list of telephone numbers in your organisation.

Using filters to find numbers in your inventory

You can filter numbers based on categories including:

  • Activation state.
  • Assignment state.
  • Who the phone number is assigned to.
  • A specific emergency address, or location.
  • Number type.

You can do this by using the drop-down list to filter your view:

  1. At the top of the table, next to the column headers, you’ll see a filter icon.
  2. Selecting it opens the Filter pane on the right side.

See the status of a number

You can see the status of any number in the inventory. In Phone numbers, you will see two columns:

  • Assignment Status (numbers assigned to user, Voice app, Conference bridge, or Unassigned.)
  • Activation State (Activated, Assignment pending, Assignment failed, Update pending, Update failed.)

You can filter by both Assignment Status and Activation Status.

For more detailed information, see Microsoft's guidance on Viewing the activation status for number assignments.
