If an engineer installed your service, it's ready to use straight away unless extra work is needed at the exchange.
If you've installed yourself, it'll be activated by 23:59 on the agreed date.
What happens if my activation or start date is delayed?
If your activation or start date is delayed, we'll let you know by text, email, or phone. You can also see your order's progress when you track your BT Business order online.
Changing your activation or start date
To change the activation or start date for your order, please use Chat (during office hours) on the Track your order page.
How long does it take to set up BT Business Broadband?
It takes 5-10 working days to get you online after you place your order. Some useful need to knows:
- We may be able to connect you without visiting your premises – we'll let you know when you place your order.
- If you need an engineer visit, they'll stay until you're up and running which takes 45-60 minutes for one PC.
- If no engineer's needed, your service will start working some time before midnight on your activation day. We'll tell you your activation date by email after you've placed your order.
- If no engineer's needed you can install your Business Hub on the activation date, this takes about 15 minutes. Just follow the simple instructions included with the package.
- If you already have broadband and you're upgrading your service, you may lose your broadband for a short time while the engineer does some work in the cabinet (the green box on the street that connects your property to the network). Just plug in your Business Hub and wait for it to connect.
