WAN port on Smart Hub 2 and using it for Ethernet

The BT Smart Hub 2 has a WAN port which is essential if you have Full Fibre broadband (FTTP). However, if you don't have BT Full Fibre, you can change the WAN port to be an extra Ethernet port.

How to convert the WAN port to Ethernet

  1. Open the Smart Hub 2 Hub Manager How to access the Hub Manager
  2. Go to Advanced settings
  3. Select Broadband
  4. Enter the password from the back of your Smart Hub 2
  5. Go to Full Fibre (FTTP) Mode and change the status to OFF
  6. If you’re happy to make the change, select Yes
  7. Select Save at the top-right of the screen
  8. Follow the instructions on the pop-up, and select OK

When your Smart Hub 2 restarts, you’ll be able to use the WAN port as an extra Ethernet port.

How to change the WAN port back for Full Fibre (FTTP)
