Using Microsoft Teams on your mobile

You can use Microsoft Teams on your mobile to make and receive business calls using Operator Connect, just like you would on desktop.

This article covers how to manage your call settings, make calls, check voicemail and transfer calls on your mobile device.

Manage call settings on your mobile

You can control how incoming and outgoing calls are handled in Microsoft Teams on your mobile.

How to access your call settings

  1. Open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device.
  2. Select your profile picture (top left).
  3. Select Settings, then Calling.

From here, you can:

  • set up call forwarding
  • choose Also ring (ring another device or call group at the same time)
  • decide what happens to unanswered calls
  • change your voicemail greeting
  • block calls

Settings may vary slightly depending on your device (iOS or Android) and your organisation’s setup.

Manage call queues

Opt in or out of a call queue

You may want to temporarily leave a call queue (for example, during a break or when you’re unavailable).

To turn a call queue on or off:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device.
  2. Select your profile picture.
  3. Go to Settings, then Calling.
  4. Under Call queues, find the queue you want to manage.
  5. Use the toggle to turn it on or off.

Make a call on your mobile

You can make a Microsoft Teams call on your mobile in a few different ways.

Use the Calls tab to make a call

  1. Open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device.
  2. Select the Calls tab.
  3. Use the dial pad to enter a number.
  4. Select the Call button.

Or:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device.
  2. Go to the People tab.
  3. Search for a contact.
  4. Select the Call button next to their name.

Call from your history

  1. Open Microsoft Teams on your mobile device.
  2. Select the Calls tab.
  3. Select History.
  4. Choose the contact you want to call.
  5. Select the Call icon under their name.

Manage voicemail on your mobile

You can use Teams to check and manage your voicemail messages.

Listen to your voicemail

  1. Open Microsoft Teams on your mobile.
  2. Select Voicemail from the navigation menu.
  3. Select the Play button on a message to listen.
  4. Select the Call icon to return the call.

Transfer a call

You can transfer an active call to someone else in your organisation.

How to transfer a call on your mobile

  1. While on a call, select More actions (three dots).
  2. Select Transfer.
  3. Search for the person you want to transfer the call to.
  4. Select their name.
  5. Select Transfer to complete the transfer.

In some cases, you may also see Consult first, which lets you speak to the person before completing the transfer.
