Set up Personal contacts and Speed dials on BT Cloud Voice

Personal contacts

You can create a personal directory of up to 500 numbers on the BT Cloud Voice Business Portal.

If you already use Company Contacts, all your contacts - both company and personal - are compiled in a single directory.

Set up personal contacts:

  1. Sign in to the BT Cloud Voice Portal.
  2. From the dashboard select Users (found across the top).
  3. Search for the user and click the settings icon.
  4. Select Contacts on the left.
  5. Click Add contact.
  6. Enter the name and number of the contact.
  7. Click Save.

To import multiple contacts, to the users account, in a bulk upload:

  1. Select the Import contacts button.
  2. When the Import Contacts drawer is open, you’ll see a .CSV template file. Download this file, via the link.
  3. Complete the template with all the contact details you want to upload, up to the 5MB file size limit.
  4. Then save template locally in the same .CSV format.
  5. Next, simply drag and drop the saved file into the highlighted zone on the Cloud Voice portal.
  6. Finally, click Save and the list of contacts should appear in the phonebook.

Once the contacts are added, you may need to switch on Phone services. This will enable devices to see the contacts. To do this, follow the steps below.

How to switch on Phone services:

  1. Sign in to the BT Cloud Voice Portal.
  2. From the dashboard select Users (across the top).
  3. Search for the user and click the settings icon.
  4. Select Features on the left.
  5. In the Phone services tile, click the settings icon.
  6. Beside your device, click the settings icon.
  7. Make sure the box is ticked beside Phone services, for device name.
  8. Then, tick the box for User contacts.
  9. Click Save.

If the contacts don't appear on your handset straight away, just reboot the device.

Speed dial

Set up Speed dial 8

Use this feature to store up to eight numbers and dial them with just a single digit (from 2-9).

  1. Sign in to the BT Cloud Voice Portal.
  2. From the dashboard select Users (across the top).
  3. Search for the user and click the settings icon.
  4. Select Features on the left.
  5. In the Speed dial 8 tile, click the settings icon.
  6. Click Add numbers.
  7. From the drop-down menu, select the code for the speed dial number.
  8. Enter the destination phone number – you can also enter an optional description.
  9. Click Save.

Set up Speed dial 100

You can configure up to 100 speed dials using two digits from 00 to 99. Use these to dial out using the speed dial prefix and the corresponding speed dial code from your device and any supporting apps.

If you use a speed dial code that conflicts with a feature access code, speed dial will take priority.

  2. From the dashboard select Users (across the top).
  3. Search for the user and click the settings icon.
  4. Select Features on the left.
