Controlling the time when devices can access the internet on Smart Hub 2

Do you want to control what time your devices - or a specific device - can access the internet? That's where this feature comes in.

From the Hub Manager home page, go to -

  • Advanced Settings.
  • BT Access control.

Pause internet access for all devices

When this is on, you'll block all devices from the internet for a period of time. This is called 'Pause'

  1. Click Pause
  2. Next to 'Pause all internet access', select On
  3. Select Save

Pause internet access for a single device

  • On the bottom half of the 'Pause' page, select the device you want to control by clicking the right arrow next to it in the listing
  • Set the duration of the pause : 1 hour, 2 hours or a custom end time

Access Control Groups

By default, all devices on the Hub network are members of the 'default' group. New groups can be created on the Groups page

  1. In the Access Control page, click the Groups tab
  2. Type in the group name
  3. Select a device to add to the group
  4. Click add ( + ) to create the group
  5. Further devices can be added to the group by selecting the device and clicking add ( + )
  6. Click Save

Pause internet access for a group of devices

  1. Select the group you want to control by clicking the right arrow
  2. Click Paused: Yes
  3. Set the duration of the pause : 1 hour, 2 hours or a custom end time
  4. Click Save

Block internet access for a device or group of devices on a schedule

  1. Identify the device or group you want to schedule
  2. Select the Start and End time and days for which internet access must be paused
  3. Click Blocked: Yes
  4. Click Save
