If you have a domain with another provider but want Microsoft 365 with BT, you can leave your domain and point it to our Microsoft 365 service or you can transfer the domain to BT.
Registering for a domain
Complete this form BT Professional Setup (office365.com) and we’ll contact you at your selected time.
If you’re moving a BT Connect.com email over to a new domain, we’ll apply mail forwarding for all your new emails received to your old BTConnect mailbox to your new domain mailbox. When you reply, it’ll come from your domain email. This will help your customers transition to your new email address and we can also help you setup a signature that includes a notice for your customers.
Web hosting
Registering a domain alone does not give the ability to have a website. If you also want a website, you need web hosting. We can provide a web hosting service but you would be responsible for designing and maintaining your website. We can help you point the domain to your website.
If you already have web hosting with another company, you can register a domain through BT and point it to your web host and still have Microsoft 365 or web based email with BT.
Can BT help me move to a domain?
We offer Professional Setup and Professional Setup Lite. Both services will cover placing orders and making sure your domain is setup correct and fully functional with Microsoft 365. We’re also experts in migrating data from your old account to your new one. You don’t have to phone us. The service is run through an online booking form. We’ll call you on your chosen appointment slot.
