Setting up Sequential ring on BT Cloud Voice
What is Sequential ring?
Sequential ring will help reduce the chance of missing an important call. It will call up to five other Devices in order, if your primary office Device is unanswered. This could be your business mobile, personal mobile or a colleagues office Device for example.
Note: This feature may not be supported by the calling party’s mobile network provider. Please contact your Communication Provider if you are experiencing issues.
How to set up and use Sequential ring?
- Sign in to the BT Cloud Voice Business Portal.
- From the dashboard select Users (across the top).
- Search for the user and click the settings icon.
- Select Features on the left.
- In the Sequential ring tile, click the settings icon.
- Now follow the instructions below, for each of the options you may want to set up.
- Click Save when finished.
Settings
Manage sequential ring settings for how incoming calls are received on the main user phone.
- Towards the top of the page under Settings, click Manage.
- Tick the box if you’d like your primary Device to ring before the Ring List. Then from the drop-down menu, select how long you’d like it to ring for.
- To stop this from happening when you’re already on a call, tick the Skip when busy box.
- To let the caller interrupt the Sequential Ring feature, tick the box. Then the caller can push the star on their keypad * which will take them straight to the Users Voicemail or other forwarding option, if available.
- Click Save when finished.
Manage ring list
- Click Add ring list.
- Type in the number of the first Device you’d like to ring, when your primary Device is unanswered, then select how long you’d like it to ring for.
- If you want to stop the other Device’s Voicemail from picking up the call, tick the Answer confirmation required box. You can add up to five numbers in total, which will be called in order.
- Click Save once you’re done.
Manage a Sequential ring rule
This lets you to create a rule and set criteria for when to use the ring list. If you want to use the ring list all the time, then leave this blank.
- Click Add rule.
- Name the rule and apply a time schedule - see below how to create a time schedule.
- Click Continue.
- Select All phone numbers or Selected phone numbers. You can add up to twelve numbers.
- Click Save.
How to set up a time schedule?
- Sign in to the BT Cloud Voice Business Portal.
- From the Dashboard, select Sites.
- Select the site for which you wish to create a schedule.
- Select Features from the left-hand menu.
- In the Schedules tile click on the settings icon.
- You’ll now see any available schedules that you’ve already set up.
- Select Edit on an existing schedule to change it, or use Add schedule to create a new one.
