How can I call forward my incoming Hunt Group calls to an external number?

Before you start you may want to print out this long list of instructions.

1. First create a Dummy User

  1. Right click on User and select New

  2. Enter a User Name e.g. Call Forward

  3. Enter a dummy Extension Number XXXX ( Note - This must be unique)

  4. Click Ok to save

  5. A pop up box will appear. Select None and click Ok

  6. Click on the Voicemail tab and Uncheck Voicemail On

  7. Click on Telephony tab > Supervisor Settings

  8. Ensure Inhibit Off-Switch Forward/Transfer is Unchecked

  9. Click on the Forwarding tab and tick the following:

    Forward Unconditional
    Forward Hunt Group Calls
    Forward Internal Calls

  10. Enter the telephone number you wish your calls to go to in the Forward Number field. Prefix the number with a 9 and click Ok

  11. Click the User tab and set the User Rights View to Working Hours User Rights

  12. Set the Working Hours User Rights to Generic

  13. Click Ok and select Save Configuration

2. Create a Hunt Group

  1. Right click on Hunt Group and click New

  2. Enter a Hunt Group Name (e.g. CFWD)

  3. Enter an Extension Number YYYY ( Note - This must be unique)

  4. Set the Ring Mode Hunt Group to either Sequential or Rotary

  5. Add the new dummy user (Call Forward) XXXX to the Hunt Group (CFWD) YYYY

    Under the User List click on the Edit button
    Click on the Dummy Extension to highlight it
    Click the Append button to add the Extension to this Hunt Group
    Click Ok

  6. Click on the Voicemail tab and Uncheck Voicemail On

  7. Click Ok and select Save Configuration

3. Click on the System Tab

  1. Click on Telephony then click Telephony
  2. Ensure Inhibit Off-Switch Forward/Transfer is Unchecked

4. Add a new System Short Code

Note - The short code must be unique so you must check the code doesn't already exist. Select System Short Code at the left hand side and check the code 9N is not in the list.

  1. Right click on System Short Code and click New then enter the following details below:

    Short Code: 9N
    Feature: Dial
    Telephone Number: N
    Line Group: 0 or relevant group

  2. Click Ok and select Save Configuration

5. Program Fall Back On Main Hunt Group

  1. Click on Hunt Group
  2. Select the  Main Hunt Group you want to forward to the external number
  3. Click on the Voicemail tab and ensure Voicemail box is Un-Ticked
  4. Click the Fallback tab and Set Out Of Service Fallback to new the Hunt Group (CFWD)
  5. Click Ok and select Save Configuration

6. Setting call forward using either a Short Code or by programming a button on your phone

System Short Code 

  1. Manually call forward the main hunt group using a Short Code

    Right click on Short Code and select New and enter the following details:

    Code: *21*
    Feature: Set Hunt Group Out of Service
    Telephone Number (number of the Hunt Group you wish to take out of Service)  
    Line Group: 0

    Click Ok

  2. Manually cancel the call forward from the main hunt group using a Short Code

    Right click on Short Code and select New and enter the following details:

    Code: *21#
    Feature: Clear Hunt group out of Service
    Telephone Number (number of the Hunt Group that you want to clear the Out of Service)
    Line Group: 0

    Click Ok and select Save Configuration

Button Programing

To program a button on a specific users extension:

  1. Left click on User

  2. Select the Extension Number of the user who will have the button on their phone

  3. Click on Button Programming

  4. Select a Button number and then click Edit and enter the details as below:

    Label: Name the button
    Action: Set Hunt group Out of Service 
    (Click on 3 dots > Select Advanced > Select Set > Select Hunt Group Out of Service)
    Action Data: number of Hunt group that you want to clear the Out of Service

  5. Click Ok and select Save Configuration then Merge
