To save DNS settings for a domain, you can use the the Advanced Domain Manager section by logging into the BT Domain Centre. When saving DNS settings for a domain, you might receive the following message, ‘Operation not supported for nameservers’.

This message is shown when the name servers for the domain are pointing to other hosts, for example, ns11.wixdns.net or ns12.wixdns.net, instead of BT Business.
The Advanced Domain Manager section only allows you to save DNS settings if the name servers are set to dns1.register.com and dns2.register.com
Upon getting the message to make the required changes to the domains DNS settings, such as changes to A record or MX record repointing, you can either:
- Contact the host of the domains name servers and request them to make the change for you or they will supply you a control panel so you can self-manage the settings.
- Contact BT Business via the live chat option or the online form, requesting the name servers to be changed back to dns1.register.com and dns2.register.com
and request the relevant changes to be saved.
