eSIM on Apple devices

How do I set my eSIM on my Apple iPhone?

First make sure you’re connected to wi-fi. Then, when you receive your eSIM pack from us find the QR code and:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to Mobile Data
  3. Select Add Data Plan
  4. Scan the QR code with your device’s camera
  5. Hit the Add Data Plan button

When you set up your eSIM, you can choose to name and label each line so it’s easy to see who’s calling. You can also choose which plans are used as the default for data and voice. It’s easy to change these, go to Settings > Mobile Data > Default Voice Line/Mobile Data

How do I know which line my calls are on?

Contacts

When you first set up your eSIM, all your contacts are assigned to the line you chose as your default voice line. Each contact has an indicator, and you can change which line you use for that contact.

Calling a number that’s not in your contacts

If you're calling someone who’s not in your contacts, you can pick which line you call that number from the on-screen options.

Incoming calls

For incoming calls, there’s an indicator showing which line you're receiving the call on. The indicator is the first letter of the name you assigned to each line. So, if you called your lines Personal and Work, the call indicator would be a P or a W.

Can I use iMessage and FaceTime on both lines?

If you're using iOS 13 or later, yes you can use iMessage and Facetime on both lines. Just go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

Can I use data when I'm on a call?

If you're taking a call on the line that isn't your default data line, data won't work unless you turn on Mobile Data Switching. When it’s on it’ll automatically switch lines for mobile data when you're on a call. To turn it on, go to Settings > Messages > Mobile Data Switching.
