BT Mobile Hotspot Troubleshooting

Can’t set up the wi-fi connection with your BT Mobile Hotspot

Try the following:

  • Make sure you've turned on wi-fi on the device you're trying to connect to
  • Refresh the network list and select the BT_Mobile_Hotspot_XXXXXX network
  • Check that you’ve entered the right wi-fi key - see Connecting to the BT Mobile Hotspot

Can’t get online when connected to the BT Mobile Hotspot

If you're connected to he Hotspot but can't get online, check the following:

  • Make sure your SIM card is active
  • Move your BT Mobile Hotspot to see if you can get a better signal
  • If the network indicator is red, it means there is no network and you'll need to contact us

BT Mobile Hotspot wi-fi key

You’ll find the wi-fi key for your BT Mobile Hotspot on a label under its battery - see Connecting to the BT Mobile Hotspot.

If you’ve changed the wi-fi key and have forgotten it, you'll need to restore the factory default settings. To do this:

  1. Log in to the BT Mobile Hotspot configuration page
  2. Select Settings > Advanced > Reset, to restore to the factory default settings

Can’t get to the BT Mobile Hotspot configuration page

Check the following:

  • Check that you’ve entered the right address in your web browser. It's http://192.168.0.1.
  • Use only one network adapter in your PC
  • Don’t use a proxy server

BT Mobile Hotspot configuration page password

The default password for the BT Mobile Hotspot configuration page is admin.

If you’ve changed the BT Mobile Hotspot configuration page password and have forgotten it, you need to restore the device to it's factory default settings. To do this, press both the Power button and the WPS button together for five seconds until the lights flash off and back on.

Can’t set up the USB connection between your device and PC

Check that you've installed the software.

If you haven't, run the installation program. Go to My Computer or Computer then ZTEMODEM and double click the .exe file. You might need to uninstall and then reinstall the software.
