How do I change my wireless network name (SSID)?

To change the name broadcast by your BT Business Hub.

BT Business Hub 5

  1. Make sure you're connected to your hub and open your web browser. Type  http://btbusinesshub.home into your address bar and then tap the Enter key on your keyboard.
  2. Click on the Advanced Settings tab and then Continue to Advanced Settings.
  3. You will be asked to enter your admin password if you've not already.
  4. Click on Wireless and then 5 GHz Wireless.
  5. Tick Yes for Sync with 2.4 GHz Wireless and then enter a new Wireless SSID name.
  6. Click Apply.

BT Business Hub 3

  1. Make sure you're connected to your hub and open your web browser. Type 192.168.1.254 or http://btbusinesshub.home into your address bar and tap the Enter key on your keyboard.
  2. Click the Settings tab
  3. Enter in your admin password and click on Ok. If you've not changed this you can find it on a card slotted into the top of your hub.
  4. Click on Advanced Settings and then Continue to Advanced Settings.
  5. Click on the Wireless tab.
  6. In the Wireless network/SSID field, enter a new name.
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Apply button.
  8. Reconnect any devices that were previously connected to the new network name.

BT Business Hub 2700/2701

  1. Make sure you're connected to your hub and open your web browser. Type  192.168.1.254 and press the ENTER key.

  2. Click on the Settings tab.

  3. Click on the LAN tab, which appears below the Settings tab.

  4. Click on the Wireless link, which appears below and to the left of the LAN tab.

  5. Scroll to the Network section.

  6. In the Network Name (SSID) field, enter a new name. You may be asked to enter your hub password. If you haven't changed it, your password is the same as the serial number on the bottom of your hub.

  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Save button.

  8. Reconnect any devices that were previously connected to the new network name.

    If you have already disabled the broadcast of the name, you will need to enter the new name of your network manually on any devices that you wish to connect to your Hub.

Disabling the wireless broadcaster can be done on the same page by switching the broadcast SSID off.

If a person is using their BTWIFI hotspot they can access this by searching for a BTWIFI icon and connecting using their own account login information.

Note: There can only be up to 13 users at any one time after this the service broadcasted from the BT Business Hub will start to diminish as more people will be sharing the available speed.
