Common questions answered

What does the engineer need before they install a new business phone line?

The engineer will need access to your premises to see how much work needs to be done. They will check for things like previous sockets and connections.

Is there an installation charge?

If you're switching your line from another supplier, in most cases there isn't a charge as we'll try to use the existing phone line on your premises. However in some instances, e.g. switching from cable to BT or where an engineer visit is required, there will be an installation charge.

On all other orders an installation charge will apply - £99 on a 24-month contract, £106.37 on a 12-month contract.

If you need multiple lines, there may be a charge per line.

Can I change my installation date after I have ordered?

Yes. Simply call 0800 800 152.

Can I use the phone number that was in use in the office/building I'm moving too?

Yes, if the current occupier hasn't kept their phone number.

Can I move my phone line when I'm still within my contract and will I need to pay another installation charge?

Yes, you can move your phone line whenever you like. If there has been a suitable service in your new premises you won't need to pay an installation charge but you may need to if there hasn't.

Can I have a memorable number for my phone line?

We're unable to allocate specific numbers.

Can I keep my phone number when I move?

Yes, if you're moving somewhere on the same telephone exchange.

Capped rates

To get the special prices on minutes, customers must:

Capped calls to UK landlines: applies to 01, 02 and 03 numbers only. Pence-per-minute rates apply after 60 minutes. There is a 2p set-up fee and a fair use policy applies. See the fair use policy

Capped calls to mobiles: you must opt in for this capped rate. There is a 6p set-up fee and applies to the 4 main mobile operators only.

The capped rate is governed by exclusions, our fair use policy and terms & conditions

International cap: you must opt in for this capped rate. The rate only applies to landline calls and there's a 3p set-up fee for any calls that don't reach the capped level.

Adding a Calling Package:

This is available to customers signing up to the BT Business Complete 1p Offer.

It covers calls to 01, 02, 03, 056, some 055, 0845 and 0870 numbers, UK mobiles and most international destinations.

The calling package can be taken on any lines in the customer's BT Business Complete inventory.

Monthly allowance of 5000 landline & international minutes per month combined and 500 minutes to UK mobiles. Terms & conditions apply
