Business Broadband Engineer Install

As part of our ongoing strategy to provide you with a better service, we now offer an improved version of the existing engineer assisted service, which provides you with onsite setup and configuration of your BT Business Broadband service by a trained professional.

The BT IT Support Manager Terms and Conditions will apply in addition to the standard BT Business Broadband Terms & Conditions.

For the standard Install on Broadband, an engineer will connect an ADSL socket at the customer's premises and install a BT provided modem or router. The engineer will also test the broadband connectivity and connect the customers PC(s) to the broadband line. So in summary:

  • Engineer will connect the modem or router to phone line
  • Engineer will check and test that the broadband connection is working
  • Engineer will connect PC to the modem or router. For wireless, the customer must provide their own PC wireless card
  • Engineer will install internet connection, Outlook Express and Internet Explorer software
  • Engineer will setup BT Business ISP settings on PC*

Please note the engineer uses the connects the standard hardware and software as provided under the BT Broadband service.

What happens next?

You should have already received your welcome email, which was sent when you ordered the service. This email provided confirmation of your order, useful links, outlined next steps as well as our contact details and states the agreed date and time for the engineer visit. If for any reason we need to change this appointment, we will contact you.

If you have ordered a modem or router as part of the service, it will be delivered to you before the installation date. Please have this handy for teh planned engineer visit.
