Switching to BT Business Total Broadband -Terms and Conditions

Open to all UK businesses who place an order to switch to BT Business Total Broadband, using an active MAC code, from another Internet Service Provider (ISP) from 20th November 2006.

BT Business Total Broadband

1. Customers who purchase BT Business Total Broadband Option 2, Option 3 or Network, and who at the expiry of 90 days from activation do not opt out of continuing to receive the service, will receive credits equivalent to 1 month rental charges applied to either their second or subsequent bill after the 90 day period. Thereafter standard monthly rental charges will apply.

BT Business Broadband Voice Plus

2. Customers who purchase BT Business Broadband Voice Plus when they place their order for BT Business Total Broadband and who, at the expiry of 90 days from activation of their broadband service do not opt out of continuing to receive the BT Business Broadband Voice Plus service, will receive a credit of £40 applied to either their second or subsequent bill. Standard monthly rental charges will apply.

Enhanced Migration Support (EMS)

3. Customers will be entitled to EMS at no extra cost from the date of registration for EMS until one month after the date of activation of their BT Business Total Broadband service.

  • The EMS service is not a PC support service and is limited to assistance with:
Broadband activation As many lines as ordered
EmailGuidance on the setting up of e-mail addresses (BT will assist in setting up to 5 addresses)
Static IPAssistance in setting up as many IP addresses as were ordered at the same time as the broadband service
Web SiteAssistance with the setting up of a single simple html based web site without scripts
RouterInstallation of as many as ordered
Broadband Voice serviceAs many lines as ordered
Other items (single PC only)The installation of peripherals (such as printers, scanners, drives etc), Microsoft Office applications, security and virus issues

  • At the time of registration for EMS a list of issues needing to be managed as part of the migration will be agreed between BT and the customer.
  • On the day of the switch the customer should call the EMS helpdesk when they require assistance from the EMS service.
  • Migration Support will last for up to a month after the date of activation of the broadband service. The EMS service will continue to assist with any unresolved issues raised within the month & covered by the service but any new issues should be reported to the BT Business Total Broadband Helpdesk as appropriate.
  • BT's EMS is provided by BT solely for the purpose of assisting in the migration of customer's broadband service from another ISP. The service is not intended to cover installation or set up of any hardware or software other than that which form part of the installation being migrated nor is it intended to be a PC repair service.
  • The EMS service will use reasonable endeavours to resolve any issues raised within the scope of the service. BT does not guarantee that we will be able to fix all faults or resolve all issues raised.
  • If a fault is due to a failure in your equipment it is your responsibility to arrange for the repair or replacement of it either via the BT IT Support Manager On Site service, if available in your area, or via other means.
