New Regulations Applied to the selling of Mobile Telephony Services

Ofcom, the Communications Regulator, has created new regulations to reduce the incidence of mis-selling of Mobile Telephony Services. The aim of the regulation is to ensure that customers are aware of the nature of their purchase and the relevant charges and terms and conditions, so at the point of buying a service they are making an informed decision.

As a seller of mobile services BT is obliged to provide information relating to the requirements to its customers.

The regulation, General Condition 23, came into force on 16th September 2009. The General Condition can be found on the links below (see page 139 of 164 of the pdf)
